About me

As a self-taught artist, my fascination with painting has been since I was a wee bairn.  My family are creative and I watched in amazement as ideas came to life. This seeded the inspiration for me.

During the COVID-19 pandemic I fully immersed myself in painting. This period of isolation provided me with the opportunity to explore and develop my artistic style through practice and experimentation.

Throughout my artistic journey, I have embraced a variety of mediums, allowing me to express my ideas and emotions in diverse ways. This versatility can be seen in many of my artworks as each medium offers unique characteristics, I regularly integrate them into my pieces.

I love to focus on layers and deep colour combinations. I find layering adds depth and complexity to my paintings, creating a sense of movement and allows the viewer to loose themselves in it. The interplay of colours is crucial; I often experiment with various palettes to evoke specific moods or themes. This approach often creates paintings that viewers connect with on multiple levels.

Nature and the local environment are the biggest sources of inspiration for my art. I am captivated by the beauty of the natural world, and I strive to bring elements of the outdoors into my work. Whether it is the vibrant hues of a sunset, the intricate patterns of leaves, or the textures found in landscapes, I try to capture these and translate them onto canvas.

My artistic practice is a reflection of my journey as a self-taught artist. I will continue to explore and cultivate a deep appreciation for the world around me seeking new ways to express my vision and share the beauty of the world.
